RBKC must stop granting all night licenses for fast foods, gambling shops and 24x7 sale of alcohol on Earl's Court Road

Earl's Court residents are facing an explosion of all night licensing applications from fast-food, gambling shops and 24x7 alcohol sale. As predicted when the LibDems fought Burger King’s application for a 5am license, which was granted by the Council, this licence has created a domino effect with a waterfall of lifechanging applications coming forward. Fast food late operations are primarily deliveries and thus responsible for the delivery bike chaos.

Admiral and Silvertime (24/7 adult gaming venues), McDonalds and Star Kebab (5am cafe licenses), and the Coop with an application for a 24/7 alcohol licence (with bike sales after midnight) are being applied for, with Taco Bell expected to apply for a variation of their license to 5am.

This is all happening while Earl's Court is under a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) and the Council is currently consulting for a borough-wide PSPO to tackle alcohol related antisocial behavior. The borough is giving with one hand and taking with the other, these applications will undermine any proposed Council improvements to the area and its surroundings.

Say No to 24x7 food deliveries, gambling

A Public Spaces Protection Order is in place in Earl’s Court to primarily deal with our existing Anti-Social Behaviour, drug use and supply problems, and this is likely to increase if the licences are approved. The police and the Street Enforcement Teams finish at 23:00, so there is a critical open question around who will enforce the PSPO if more of these licenses were to be approved including for bike delivery drivers who are already making both residents and hotel guests lives impossible. The delivery riders have taken over our streets, pavements, and steps. They leave food and drink waste on our steps and use our basements as lavatories – they shout, have fights, and leave residents to police their Anti-Social behaviour.

Enough is Enough – we live here - the accumulative impact of all night licensed premises is killing our high street and our neighbourhoods.
