Margo Schwartz is the dedicated representative Chelsea Riverside deserves
Margo has made her home in Chelsea for the past 25 years. She first came to London as a Canadian diplomat and understands the many facets of government. Her experience engaging in high-level negotiations would serve her well in cross-party initiatives at the Council.
Politically active since 2016, Margo has been a member of the KCLib Dem Executive for the last 5 years. Throughout her life, Margo has been involved in volunteer activities, often taking a leadership role. During the first Covid lockdown, she was co-leader of Mutual Aid Kensington & Chelseaʼs efforts helping local residents in Chelsea Riverside and Royal Hospital wards.
A few other volunteer organisations she chaired include her Residentsʼ Association, a Family Services and Immigrant Aid Agency, her local PTA, and an international not-for-profit company removing landmines in conflict zones.
Margo is keenly aware of the importance of local businesses and the contribution they make to our community.
She started working in her father’s shops at age 12. Since leaving her diplomatic career, she has run diverse businesses from commercial property to forest management. She is proud that under her stewardship hundreds of good jobs were saved in challenging economic circumstances.
Margo likes nothing better than talking to local residents, listening to their stories, and to their concerns. She is often out photographing our wonderful Chelsea, and is keen to represent you at the heart of our local government.
