European Citizens Rights and Brexit

This debate is jointly organised by sister parties Liberal Democrats, Mouvement Démocrate and Ciudadanos.

Brexit is a source of great anxiety amongst European citizens residing in the UK, and of British expats residing in the EU.
The ‘muddled’ waters attached to T. May government strategy, the temptations to instrumentalise EU citizens as part of the negotiations and the increased difficulty to gain permanent residency status contribute to this climate.

This debate will aim to take stock of the political actions in the UK and the EU to protect EU residents, to put some European perspective and to hear your concerns and comments so that they can be escalated.

The panellists are
- Baroness Sarah Ludford, House of Lords, LibDem spoke-woman on Brexit, ex MEP
- Charles Tannock, MEP, Conservatives
- Alex Taylor, journalist and radio/TV producer, based in Paris for the last 30 years and the ultimate Europhile (he is known as Mr Europe in France)
